Nigeria's Champions, Rivers Angels have finally crashed out of the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League, despite thrashing Vihiga Queens of Kenya 4-0 in its final Group B on Friday.
Vivian Ikechukwu grabbed a brace for Rivers Angels from the penalty spot in the 67th and 76th minutes before Damilola Koku and Monday Gift goals in the 80th and 83rd minute completed the demolition of the Kenyan ladies
However, the goaless draw between group leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC of South Africa and ASFAR FC of Morocco confirmed eventual elimination of Rivers Angels who finished in the third position in Group B with three points from three games
Rivers had earlier lost its first two group games to ASFAR FC (3-0) and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC (1-0).
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC who finished top of the group with seven points will face Malabo Kings in the semi-final while ASFAR FC who emerged 2nd with four points will trade tackles with Hasaacas Ladies FC.
