Lafenwa Market Explosion:NNPP Demands Abiodun's Apology For Victims

New Nigeria People's Party NNPP has demanded for Governor Dapo Abiodun's unreserved apology for the victims of the fire disaster at the popular Lafenwa Market in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital

The State Chairman of the party, Comrade Olaposi Sunday Oginni made the call at the scene of the explosion caused by a petrol tanker who suddenly fell and spilled its content on the Lafenwa Railway crossing on Sunday morning, claiming no fewer than three lives and leaving several others with  various degrees of injuries while many traders lost goods and property destroyed in their shops at the market

NNPP blamed on the fire incident on dilapidated condition of the road, accusing the Abiodun's administration of failing to fix the road to avoid such unfortunate situation where lives had been lost

"This calamity is unnecessary, it is avoidable. It should not have happened, if the government is alive to its responsibility of giving us good roads .We call on Governor Dapo Abiodun to apologise to the good people of the Ogun State for the loss of lives and property in Lafenwa. As a matter of urgency government should commence construction of this road with immediate effect", the party insisted

The party however called on the Federal Government through its National Emergency Management Agency NEMA to quickly come to the aids of the victims  and bring succour to the people whose businesses had been destroyed by the incident
