Remo Sports Development Council of the Ogun State Sports Council has taken delivery of four sets of table tennis boards donated by Sagamu Union Great Britain, to enhance the discovery and development of budding talents in the state
Chairperson of the Council and ex-Olympiad ,Chief (Mrs) Falilat Ogunkoya Omotayo (MON) receiving the first class sporting equipment at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, appreciated the donors and says the council will make good use of it.
Her words,“For this union to give us four table tennis board is awesome. We will make good use of it and pray that God will continue to bless the donors for this donation.”
Technical Director of Remo Sports Development Council, Elder Samson Oyeledun (MON) assured that the council would continue to work hard to discover youngsters using the newly donated equipment to nurture them to stardom to become the likes of Aruna Quadri , Funke Oshonaike and others
“Today is a wonderful day in the history of Remoland. This is a very wonderful program which we have been looking forward to seeing. We knew from the onset that Remo Sports Development Council won’t be able to discover talents without equipment. I am happy to see this equipment and we will not relent hoping that champions like Aruna Quadri will come out from this equipment. We pray that God will continue to bless the body that donated this equipment.”
The representative of the union's President , Alhaji Fatai Olanrewaju Sodiq in a chat with so that he is happy to be part of the initiative as the union will do more in a bid to enhance the development of sports in Remo.
“I have been praying for this occasion and happy for this day. When this idea came to make this donation, I was happy to support the initiative. We are committed to charitable works. In Sabo Sagamu, we have a centre for the blind with the support of Lafarge WAPCO Cement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we presented palliative to elderly people. This donation will not be the end as we will do more to support the Council. I want to thank Chief Abijo and Chief Falilat Ogunkoya for the proposals and follow up which made this a reality.”,he assured
Also speaking, the Remo zone Divisional Sports Officer (DSO), Mr. David Osuolale was full of praises for the donation on behalf of Ogun State Government and Commissioner of Sports
His words,“On behalf of Ogun State Government and Commissioner of Youth and Sports with Remo Sports Development Council, we want to thank and appreciate you. We have not had it this good to the fact that an organization will make equipment donations to us. After this, we believe that more will come from the organization to support us.”
Sagamu Union Great Britain responding, assured Remo Sports Development Council of more donations including a boxing ring, as its planned for the first Remo Sports Festival
