Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu has tasked the State Government and wealthy individuals to urgently upgrade facilities at the Boastal Home Institute in Adigbe, Abeokuta the state capital, in the interest of the abandoned children
Justice Dipeolu who expressed concern over the condition of the facilities, made the call during her maiden visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service Boastal Home,as part of the activities for the commencement of the 2021/2022 new legal year
The Chief Judge who granted amnesty to one of the children, explained that equipping the Institute with the needed facilities would assist greatly in the training of the children who are mostly abandoned, in various vocations at the centre and make them useful for the society
"I call on the State Government to equip and philanthropists to donate generously to the Boastal home, so that children abandoned by their parents can learn vocations, further more in their academics in the Institute and as well be useful for the society", she stated
According to her, "Some of the children were not released, so as not to go back into crime, as some of them were arrested for rape among other capital offences, some of them were very young and not knowledgeable enough, instead they need to learn some vocations," Justice Dipeolu added
The Chief Judge who was accompanied on the visit by top officials of the State's jurdiciary, therefore admonished parents to train their children and inculcate in them, the moral values to prevent them from all forms of evil vices
