Ogun Asks Artisans, Others To Register With Its Business Permit Portal

Business owners operating in Ogun State, particularly Members of the Coalition of Technicians, Artisans and Craftsmen (COSTAC), have been asked to register their businesses on the State’s business premises permit portal before December 31, 2021.

The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe made the call at a meeting with the executive members of the association, at the Ministry’s Conference room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Longe stated that registration of businesses on the portal via businesspermit.ogunstate.gov.ng would enable government provide more improved assistance for the development of businesses in the State, through planning and implementation of government’s policies and programmes.

“We have the business premises registration portal which can be accessed on mobile phones. We want all the COSTAC and non-COSTAC members to register on the portal to help the Ministry provide more support for your businesses at improving the Ease of Doing Business”, the Commissioner said.

She advised members of the group to exhibit excellence in their professions, assuring that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration would not relent at meeting the needs of technicians, artisans and craftsmen doing business in the State.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Remi Ogunmefun lauded the Coalition for being an organised body, assuring that the Ministry is planning to facilitate free trainings for members to aid the growth of their businesses.

Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola called on the group to reciprocate government’s gesture by utilising their skills to add value to the economic development of the State.

Responding, the Chairman, COSTAC, Comrade Taiwo Lasisi said the Coalition, which is an amalgamation of different groups is in support of the development of technical education, skills upgrading, training on new technology and collaboration with industries and government agencies, with the aim of reducing unemployment in the State.

Lasisi, represented by a former Deputy Chairman, COSTAC, Comrade Ayodele Anthony lauded the Commissioner for ensuring members of the group who benefitted from the five streams of the survival funds, seeking for more trainings and other necessary incentives for the members.
