All is set for the 16th Annual Retreat/70th Business Meeting of the Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities ARNU, holding this Thursday at the Federal University of Agriculture,FUNAAB ,Abeokuta in the Ogun State capital, with Governor Dapo Abiodun leading other top dignitaries to the opening ceremony of the event
The retreat which holds at the sprawling Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building, FUNAAB Permanent Site, Alabata Road, was facilitated by the Registrar of the University and Secretary of ARNU, Dr. 'Bola Adekola and endorsed by the University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako who is the Chief Host,
Over 70 Registrars from Nigerian Universities according to a statement by Head,Directorate of Public Relations, Kola Adepoju ,are attending the retreat to chart the ways forward for the administration of the university system in the country
Governor Abiodun who is the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion is expected to deliver a Goodwill Message on behalf of the Government and the good people of Ogun State; The State which produced the highly revered international Administrator, Chief Simeon Adebo of blessed memory and the University's quintessential pioneer Registrar and Administrator per excellence, Princess Bisi Shoboyejo.
The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Salako and the National Chairman of ARNU, Dr. Abubakar Mamuda who is the Registrar of Federal University, Lafia will lead the entourage that will receive and welcome Governor Abiodun to the University and the AGM respectively.
Highlight of the 16th Annual Retreat and 70th Business Meeting which ends on Friday 15th of October include a Keynote Address titled, “Professionalism, Work Ethics and Unionism in Nigerian Universities – The Nexus” which will be delivered by Prof. Saburi Adesanya.
The Meeting will also climax and be spiced by Business Sessions, Courtesy Call on the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Visit to FUNAAB Zoo Park and a Gala Nite.
Also expected at the Opening Ceremony are Principal Officers of the University, former Registrars of the University, serving Administrators of the University under the aegis of ANUPA.
The Secretary of ARNU and FUNAAB Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Adekola who has been working tirelessly towards the hosting of the meeting affirmed that his team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure successful hosting.
Dr. Adekola expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the entire Management team for accepting to host all Registrars of Nigerian Universities in FUNAAB.
