Crescent University Celebrates 759 Graduands,Begins Nursing,Anatomy,Physiology Programmes


Crescent University ,Abeokuta has celebrated its 759 graduands who bagged first degree in various academic programmes,including 65 who finished with first class grade at the 12th and 13th joint convocation of the institution

The highly elated Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila at the joint ceremony held on Saturday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, revealed that 422 bagged first degree for the 2019/2020 while 337graduated at the end of the 2020/2021 academic session as well as 36 postgraduate students who bagged Master’s Degree in the two sessions whch included the first set of Master of Business Administration MBA from  the Abeokuta Business School of the university 


Four distinguish personalities including the Agura of Gbagura-Egbaland, Oba Saburi Bakre ,Dr. Mohammed Dikwa who is the president of Al-Ansar  Foundation, chief promoter of the proposed  Al-Ansar University ,Maiduguri, Borno , Sheikh Muhyideen Kolawole Nojimdeen Al-Kubrah , a Chartered Accountant, successful Banker and President of Muslim  Association of Nigeria and Princess (Mrs)Rosemary U.Osulamku-Atu ,the founder of Rosula Foundation were conferred  with various honourary doctorate degree for their contributions to the human capital development and the society





Prof. Gbajabiamila also announced the commencement of Nursing ,Anatomy and Physiology programmes  in the College of Health Sciences, saying the National Universities Commission(NUC) visited the university for resource verification in September

He added that all the academic programmes including LLB Law,B.SC  Computer Science, B.SC Microbiology ,B.SC Islamic Studies, B.SC Mass Communication,B.SC Architecture, B.SC Biochemistry ,B.SC Economics, B.SC Business Administration and B.SC Political Science and International Studies  had been fully  accreditated  by NUC

The vice-chancellor while congratulating the graduands, noted that the university witnessed improvement  within the last two sessions in the growth of the students population as well as scholarship offers from Rosula Foundation for students in all courses

According to him, “On February 15,2020,the university matriculated 494 students cutting across the various departments just before the lockdown due to COVID-19  pandemic and on March 13,2021,the university also matriculated about 412 students cutting across various departments”



Proprietor of the university, Judge Bola Ajibola was full of praises that the institution had produced more female first class degree holders than their male counter-part  since the first graduation ceremony in 2009 ”coincidently ,this is in congruence with our vision of nurturing girl-child education “

The Proprietor who was represented by his son, Prince Adesegun Mahruf Ajibola SAN appreciated the various contributions of Chief Kessington Adebutu,Alhaji Aliko Dangote,Governor Aminu Tambuwal , the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona,  Mr. Babatunde   Folawiyo and family, former governor s of Lagos State,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed  Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola, Senator Aliyu Wamako, former governor of Kano STATE, Dr.Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso amongst others to development of the university  while lauding the vice-chancellor

Dr.Mohammed Dikwa who was conferred with Degree of Doctor of Science in Accounting , on behalf of the honorary doctorate awardees, pledged  to continue to support  the university and humanity in ensuring development of the country
