Ogun Reinstates Committment To Rebranding Technical Vocational Education



Ogun State Government says it is focus on rebranding technical and vocational education to produce efficient and adaptable youths. 

Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa made this known at the 2nd Annual National Conference of the School of Vocational and Technical Education, at Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu

He described investment in the education sector as an avenue to success, healthy living and economic viability, which should  be sustained with vocational skills. 

Odemuyiwa who was delivering a paper titled, "Strategic Shift and Reform for Vocational and Technical Education towards Economic Recovery in Present-Day Realities", stressed that a workable innovation would be put in place to enhance the sector for the State to retain its position as the industrial hub of the nation.

His words, “The Prince Dapo Abiodun led government will ensure that graduates have relevant skills in technical and vocational education to start their business and become employers of labour”

Earlier in his address, the Provost, Tai Solarin College of Education, Dr. Adeola Kiadese said the world needs constant innovation in education, technology and skills acquisition for economic growth and social development. 

Kiadese explained that vocational and technical education system plays crucial roles in the economic sustainability of a nation, enjoining the education stakeholders to continue to promote significance of the sector.

Appreciating the government and school authorities, Miss Ayobami Dairo, a student from Agricultural Education department in the institution,says vocational studies is needed to eradicate poverty among youths, affirming that she makes money while schooling through skill acquisition.
