Ogun State Government is concluding arrangement with the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC), to make its housing provision, affordable for subscribers who have easy access to a long-term loan facilities at low interest rates.
The State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi who unfolded the plan in Abeokuta during a courtesy visit by the management of the company to the Kobape housing project in city, described provision of housing facility as a major catalyst for economic development of the State
Jagunmolu stressed the government's committment to continually build houses,until it gets to the reach of subscribers, adding that it had put up a dimensional approach to make houses accessible for its citizens.
According to him,‘’The present administration is partnering with the company, in order to place the subscribers who could not access loan elsewhere on a long-term loan through the company where they will enjoy low interest rates’’.
The Managing Director, NMRC, Mr. Kehinde Ogundimu in his response, posited that affordable housing would continue to be a mirage until the housing sector gets massive investments.
Ogundimu during the familiarisation tour to the Kobape housing estate, expressed satisfaction at the construction process, noting that civil servants would be the ultimate beneficiaries of the premium.
