Nigerian Communications Commission NCC has raised fresh Alert against the activities of fraudsters fond of declaring fake bonus after bank customers must have made on number of financial transactions on their mobile application on phones
NCC in a Cyber Alert text message to mobile lines subscribers on Sunday, cautioned them against responding to any call or message," that says you get a bonus after making a making a number of financial transactions"
The telecom regulatory agency described such message as a SCAM, which Nigerians must avoid falling Victim of such antic
The Commission also warned against clicking on links claiming to be offering free Credit, Data, Gifts, Lottery Wins etc
According to the message to subscribers," If something seems too good to be true, it is usually fake "
Edu-Biznews findings also revealed that strange phone- calls from fraudsters claiming to be officials of bank customer, demanding from their victims the account details including their BVN and last four digits of ATM card as well as the expiry date of such card
The suspected fraudster would act under the pretence of assisting such unsuspecting bank customer, to correct error noticed in the record,concerning the exact birthday of the affected individual
The fraudster after obtaining all the account details, will issue a fresh pin with a warning to such bank customer not to disclose the number to any one
The suspect will now use such pin to gain access into the account of the victim, to defraud the individual
