War Queens Academy Win Ogun AFFAN U-15 Female Basketball Tourney



War Queens Basketball Academy, Sango have won a maiden edition of the recently concluded Under 15 Female Basketball Competition organized by the Ogun State chapter of Association of Former Female Athletes of Nigeria (AFFAN) 

The girls overwhelmed their counterpart from Fortune Basketball Academy, Abeokuta 54-14 points in the final played on Thursday at the basketball court of the Alake Sports Complex Ijeja in the state capital while Five-Fingers Basketball Academy, Sango finished in the third position


Ogun State Director of Sports, Mrs.Iyabode Rotimi during inauguration of the State chapter of AFFAN, charged members led by Dr.Bolatito Adeniji, to bring their wealth of experiences and resources to develop girl child participation in sports and eliminate all forms of sufferings being experienced by girl child in the sports Sector




"In our various individual capacities and collectively as a body, let us champion the cause of our teaming female talents and help them to attain their best potentials ",she tasked members 

The ex-International tennis star speaking on the theme of the association's seminar "Sports As A Vehicle For Empowering Girl Child",urged the newly inaugurated AFFAN members in the state, to beam more light on issues affecting the girl child in the sports industry and start proffering solutions to them .

High point of the event was the decoration of former Permanent Secretary of the Youths and Sports Ministry in the state, Mrs. Moyosore Olowomi as a matron of AFFAN
