Two Senators,Dissolved Exco Challenge APC Ward Congress In Ogun

Two Senators, Tolu Odebiyi representing Ogun West,his counter-part, Lekan Mustapha from Ogun East and the dissolved Chief Derin Adebiyi led State Executive Committee have challenged the conduct of the last July 31, 2021ward Congress by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun state

Chairman of the party's Appeal Committee for the state, Segun Ojo and Secretary, Barr .Chuks Chiwuba who made this known to newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta the state capital, said that the committee would forward its findings and recommendations to the APC National Secretariat on the three petitions received from the aggrieved members arising from the conduct of the last ward Congress

Ojo added that the recommendations of the committee would  guide the party in holding of its forthcoming Local Government and State Congresses in the country

He how ever warned that the party would not tolerate any act to divide APC in the state, expressing confidence that the party come out stronger at the end of the exercise

The committee assured aggrieved members of fairness, saying that its recommendations would not be swept under carpet

One of the petitioners,Sen. Tolu Odebiyi speaking to newsmen expressed confidence in the party's Internal mechanism to resolve the issues raised by the aggrieved members in the petitions received

He added that no member should be sidelined in the activities of the party in the state

Most of the aggrieved members especially those loyal to Amosun, have accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of hijacking the process as regards the conduct of the last ward Congress in the state, leading to parallel Congresses in some of the 236wards 

But the governor and committee in charge of the ward Congress, insisted that the party remain one in the state, describing the issue as a family affairs that would be resolved amicably

Edu-Biznews recalled that the Adebiyi led state executive loyal to the immediate former governor and now a Senator representing Ogun Central, Ibikunle Amosun, was dissolved by the then Adams Oshiomohle led National Working Committee for alleged anti-party activities in the wake of the 2019 governorship poll and later replaced it with a Care taker Committee led by Chief Yemi Sanusi whose committee was retained by the Mai Mala Buni 's Extra Ordinary National Convention Committee of APC
