Nigeria Football Federation NFF has revealed it's plan to hold under 16 male and female tournament very soon in south west zone, to discover raw talents and quality players for the national cadet and youth teams
First Vice-President of the federation, Barr.Seyi Akinwunmi over the weekend, unfolded the proposed plan for the zonal age- grade competition in an interview with sports writers in Sagamu on the sideline of the recently concluded 2020 edition of Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation KAAF/Ogun State Football Association U-18 Male Football and U-17 Female competitions among the state's 20 Local Government Areas
The South-West Coordinator added that the NFF was already talking with one or two persons who have expressed readiness to support the federation in organizing the Competitions in the zone
Akinwunmi who expressed satisfaction with the quality of players on parade in the female version of the Adebutu tournament, assured that NFF would ensure more wealthy individuals sponsor similar age- grade competitions in Ogun state and other states within the South-West zone, to sustain the talents hunt for the national teams
He was full of praises for organizers of the Adebutu tournament, expressing confidence that most of the girls in the competition would in many years play for the Super Falcons of Nigeria
His words,"Many of these girls are really loaded, I know the standard we have here in the competition,many of them in many years to come, you will find them in Super Falcons. I'm very happy with quality of players I saw here in this competition"
On his Seyi Akinwunmi Foundation,he explained that the activities of the foundation were being repackaged after the effect of COVID-19 pandemic, to provide more scholarship for talented players in the country
