2021 WASSCE:Ogun Assures WAEC Of Compliance With COVID-19 Protocols



Ogun State Government has assured the West African Examination Council (WAEC) of putting in place necessary mechanisms that will ensure absolute compliance with COVID-19 protocols during the forthcoming 2021 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination for the safety of candidates sitting for the examination.

 
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu gave the assurance over the weekend in his office, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, during a courtesy visit by officials of  the African regional examination body

Arigbabu expressed optimism that the State government would collaborate with WAEC to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise, adding that the examination body will continue to enjoy robust relationship with the State education ministry.

According to him,"WAEC has always been a partner in progress with the Ministry of Education, an international body we hold in high esteem, we will continue to give you our support because of the role you play in the life of our children. We also want to assure you that our school will continue to comply with COVID-19 protocol".

Earlier in his remarks, the State Branch Controller of WAEC, Mr. Joseph Adebayo said the essence of the visit was to solicit government’s cooperation and support in order to conduct a successful examination and for COVID-19 guidelines to be adequately followed.
