A three-day table tennis championship among secondary schools in Ogun State Serves-Off next week, Wednesday at the Alake Sports Complex in Abeokuta, the state capital
The tournament is being organized by the State Sports Council with the support of the office of Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oludare Kehinde, to mark the 2nd anniversary of Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration in the state
Head of Public Relations/Information Units of the State Sports Council,Bola Giwa in a statement obtained by EduBiznews in Abeokuta on Tuesday, revealed that sixty schools would compete for laurels at the tournament
"Prince Dapo Abiodun Table Tennis Championship for Secondary Schools (Boys&Girls) will kick start on Wednesday 9th, June 2021, among sixty Secondary Schools in (12-14 years) Cadet and (15-18years) Junior categories, spread across Ogun State in three Senatorial Zones", the statement added
According to Giwa"The competition is to engage the Youths across the State as well as create an avenue to discover *New Talent at Grassroots*"
"The grand finale will be held on Friday, June 11tg, 2021, at the Badminton Hall of Alake Sports Center Ijeja, Abeokuta Ogun State, by 2pm, with all the Sports' lovers from all the sphere of the State in attendance", she further stated
