NNL: Nilayo Improve As Gateway's Performance Worsen



F C Nilayo of Abeokuta have continued to sustain its unbeaten run in the second tier Nigeria National League NNL, in three matches 

The Abeokuta based side on Saturday recorded another impressive performance against their host, Giant Brillars, ending the tie in one-all

Edu-Biznews recalled that the team had earlier beaten Stationery Stores of Lagos on the road by a lone-goal, after making table leaders, Shooting Stars of Ibadan to suffer its second loss in the league by similar margin in Abeokuta

FC Nilayo being financed by Ogun State  former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Bukola Ololade, are improving and currently in the seventh position with 23points ahead of the eight placed Giant Brillars with 21points in the Southern Conference Group B1 while Shooting Stars are still topping the table with 38points 

Olopade has promised to continue to provide insensitive for players to motivate them to sustain and Improve their performance in the league

It was a different situation for the Ogun State Government owned Gateway United who have continued to struggle with away matches, losing narrowly by a lone-goal to homeside, Ibom Youths FC on Saturday

No thanks to Kingsley Odom who grabbed the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 66th minute, to drop Gateway to the 10th position with just 23points,three points ahead of the 11th placed Apex Krane who have outstanding match to play in the Southern Conference Group B2

Local rivals, Remo Stars FC of Ikenne-Remo are currently ahead of eleven other teams in the group,with 33points and still have two outstanding matches to be played as at the time of compiling this report

In the Nothern Conference Group A1, Gombe United are dictating the pace ahead of El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, with 30points while Niger Tornadoes are the leaders in the Nothern Conference Group A2 with the same 30points
