Both tacticians, Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars and Hakeem Busari of Gateway United have expressed optimism about their chances, as the two sides battle themselves in a local derby this Sunday, in the ongoing second tier Nigeria National League (NNL)

Ogunmodede whose side are playing at home in Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, he is very optimistic that his wards will secure the maximum three points against local rivals, Gateway United FC in Matchday five of the Nigeria National League (NNL), to consolidate on its lead in the Group B2 of Southern Conference of the league, currently at nine points

His words,“We will go into that game not as local rivals but as a normal game in the NNL because our approach will still be the way we approached previous home games."

According to Ogunmodede,“Gateway United is a state team, they've been in existence for a very long time, they are a household name but this is football, we will go into the game with our normal confidence. Our style of play won't change for no reason.”

“We are so optimistic that we will get the same results we have been getting in our home matches which is the maximum three points.”,he added

The tactician expressed with confidence of getting positive result, despite the injury sustained by some of the regular players in the team.

“For now, I am still expecting some advice from the medical team because we have some of our boys who are already injured but, we registered 25 players, five from the U19s and it's the reason we have over 18 players to execute the game. We are very much ready for a time like this, it is expected, but I am very sure we will overcome.,he stated”

Also Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) left-back, Ogunribide Oluwaseun says he is quite hopeful of his side getting the maximum points against his former side, Gateway United FC.

“I am hopeful we will defeat Gateway United FC on Sunday, I have played for them in time past and now I am with the Sky Blue Stars. With the level of training sessions we have always had, it is quite difficult for our rivals to get a point here on Sunday.”

“It's going the clash of two strong teams in Ogun State, they are also a very good side, but I am sure they can't overpower us. The game will be played for 90 minutes, but I am certain that Remo Stars will carry the day on Sunday.”

The Sky Blue Boys are still one point ahead of  Julius Atete Fc who thrashed Joy Cometh by three/nil while Bayelsa United lost its second spot on the table, after losing on the road by a lone-goal to
Goddosky FC

Meanwhile Chief Coach of Gateway United, Hakeem Busari said his side would be heading into the Ogun State derby in the best rhythm of the 2021 NNL season in the crucial encounter at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo

The Gateway Boys  who  currently  have 7 points  will be targeting a win against  the group B2 leaders Remo Stars who are on 9 points

A win for the visitors will see them, topping the table with 10 points while a draw will be bring them closer to the top with eight points.

Busari in a statement by the club's Media Officer, Moses Ojewumi, assured that his side would make the trip count

"There wouldn't have been a better time to face Daniel Ogunmodede's side than now when the team is refreshed after a week of uninterrupted preparation. The morale is good to face them after a 2-nil win over Apex Krane last week Saturday. Our resolve is to pick points home and away regardless of the ground. We have seen a handful of away wins and that's a pointer that there it's no longer business as usual"

He described the match as a healthy war between two brothers, saying the home side are good team
His words,"It's like two brothers at war, a healthy war so to speak. It will definitely be an interesting match because we playing a very good team. They haven't looked back after 4-nil loss to Bayelsa United, just as we also put the opening defeat behind us. I'm not the type that boasts. I always want results to speak for me. All I know is it will be a good watch, a spectacle" he concluded.
