Ogun Shines At 2020,2021 National JETS Competitions.

Ogun State Government has honoured its students from both  public and private sehools who won laurels for the state at the 22nd edition of the Junior Engineers Technicians and Scientists (JETS) competition in Lagos in  2020 and the recently concluded 23rd edition of the most prestigious quiz competition among secondary schools in Nigeria 

Edu-Biznews recalled that the state team won eleven ( 11)laurels in the 2020 edition of JETS competition where Aishat Kareem of the Aminat International College Gbonogun Obantoko, Abeokuta led the state team  while in 2023, another team who represented the state,won nine laurels at the 23rd edition of JETS competition  held in Abuja, Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu while receiving the winners in his office at Oke-Mosan, applauded the learners for making the state proud at the competition, which he described as a platform that would encouraged them to do better.

Arigbabu explained that due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the winners of the 22nd edition could not be honoured, hence, the joint celebration, to encouraged the winners and other learners to imbibe diligence and hard work in their academic pursuits and life in general.

The Commissioner who said he looked forward to see the winners be good ambassadors of the state, said "I am really pleased to celebrate you and I want to appreciate you for making the state proud, Ogun state has been known to consistently win in any competition, and I know you will not relent in being good ambassadors of the state, I also want to thank your parents and teachers for their efforts in building you to be who you are".

The Commissioner added that students from the public schools would also be encouraged to participate more in such competitions that in order to bring more glory to the State.

Speaking on behalf of other Students, Fadero Peace of Mayflower Secondary School, Ikenne, Faleye Oluwatoba of Ambassadors College, Ota and Ojesola Otunubi, Federal College of Education Model Secondary School, Osiele, Abeokuta, appreciated the government for celebrating them. 

They also enjoined their fellow students to keep studying hard and remain focused for them to be outstanding in their academic pursuits.
