Kwara Sustain Lead, As Nasarawa Halt Abia Warriors Unbeaten Run

Leaders, Kwara United continued with its impressive performance on Sunday in the Nigeria Professional Football League, compounding the woes of relegation threatened Katsina United who lost at home two/one in a week 18 match 

The Afonja Warriors currently at the summit of the elite division with 33points,took early lead within just five minutes through Nosiru 's strike in the 5th minute before Atule drew level for the homeside in the 30th minute  of the encounter

 Kwara United regained the lead through Ohanu 's stoppage time goal to secure the maximum three points against their host, Katsina United who are deeper in relegation water on the 18th position with 18 points

Kano Pillars moved up to the second position with the same 33points but with inferior goals difference, after a hard earned two/one win against Heartland of Owerri

Akwa United who are closely in the third position with 32points, thrashed their visitors, Lobi Stars of Makurdi, by three/nil with Nwani opening scoring in the 17th minute while Striker Mfon Udoh's brace in the 23rd minute and stoppaged time before halftime, completed the demolition

Nasarawa United in Lafia halted the eight matches unbeaten run of Abia Warriors in an eight goals thriller 

The Solid Miners are in fourth position with 30points, after defeating their visitors five/three, with Offor opening scoring in the 11th minute but Abdullahi responded with equalizer for Worriors in the 20th minute before Nwankwo regained lead for the homeside in 42nd minute

The visitors drew level again through Obaje two minutes later before Nwankwo recorded a brace in the 47th minute, Ohanachom extended the margin in the 58th minute before Abdullahi again reduced tally in the 75th minute 
Nwankwo completed a hat-trick in the 78th minute to put the match beyond the hard-fighting Abia Worriors whose last suffered a defeat from Dakkada United on 7th of February 

In other matches decided, sixth placed Rivers United defeated Sunshine Stars of Akure by a lone-goal in Port-harcourt, Warri Wolves gradually moving out of the relegation of water, after an impressive three/one against FC Ifeanyi Ubah who are still struggling in the relegation zone with 15points in the 19th position

Defending Champions, Plateau United narrowly defeated the visiting Enugu Rangers by two/one while Wikki Tourists of Bauchi played a goaless draw with their host Adamawa United who are still lanquashing at the bottom with just 12points 

Jigawa Golden Stars host MFM of Lagos while Enyimba International of Aba take on the visiting Dakkada United of Uyo in the remaining fixtures  of the top flight league on Monday
