The Nigeria's Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa as substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission,(EFCC)
The 40 year-old Bawa was confirmed, after a two-hour screening session during plenary on Wednesday
President Muhammadu Buhari last week nominated Bawa and sent his name to the Senate for confirmation, to replace Mohammed Umar Abba who is the Acting Chairman, following the last July 6, 2020 suspension of the Embattled Former Chairman, Ibrahim Magu who is facing charges for alleged corruption
Bawa speaking during the screening excercise, denied an allegation that he sold the seized property in EFCC custody at its Port Harcourt Zonal office.
He clarified that the seized property in Port Harcourt were properly disposed off by the agency’s officials from its headquarters.
The new EFCC boss vowed to recover Nigeria's stolen fund anywhere in the world, promising to apply his training with the FBI in the United States and knowledge in the intelligence gathering
