Ogun State Government has warned operators of illegal gas outlets, petrol stations or property owners against removal of seals placed on any property by its institutions, as a result of enforcement exercise.
The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL. Tunji Odunlami gave the warning after an enforcement carried out at Ilishan-Remo on some properties including gas outlets and petrol stations,
He said anyone caught indulging in the act, would face the wrath of the law.
Odunlami explained that the placement of seals on buildings, be it residential or commercial, means the owner of such buildings must have contravened the law.
According to him, 'the act of sealing up properties is a regulatory procedure taken after necessary notices had been served".
The Commissioner described the removal of seal by a petrol station at Ilishan and some gas outlets, as an effrontery on government and illegal act that would no longer be tolerated by the agency
He enjoined members of the public to cooperate with the State government, by reporting cases of such violations to the nearest Zonal Town Planning office.
Also speaking,the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Tunde Olugbewesa advised operators of illegal filling stations within the State, to visit any Zonal Town Planning office in the Local Government of operation, to get necessary approvals.
Edu-Biznews recalled that the State Government last December shutdown 13 illegal gas outlets in Ijebu-Ode for violation of its regulations.
