Ogun Finally Recruites Into Amotekun




Ogun State Government has finally announced the recruitment of personnel into the State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps,after several months of waiting for the take-off of the security outfit to stem the tide of violent crimes such as terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, killer herdsmen and the likes.

 Governor  Dapo Abiodun  approved the enlistment of personnel for the State’s Security Network Agency and ‘Amotekun’ Corps, after more than a month of promising the take off of the security outfit in the state in his new year broadcast to the people .

The Amotekun Corps are already functioning effectively in other South West States of Nigeria, Ekiti,Osun, Ondo and Oyo, except Lagos .

 The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka who made this known, says that the application form for the enlistment can be obtained on-line via the job portal at: http://jobs.ogunstate.gov.ng/job/ogun-state-security-network-agency-amotekun-corps-878


 Candidates who could not access the job portal and online process, should obtain the forms at the Office of the Commandant, Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps), Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, for detailed information on requirement for suitability.

 The release stated that collection and submission of forms commences from Friday 12 to Friday 19 February, 2021 while sorting of submitted applications and physical screening of applicants would begin on Monday 22 to Friday 26 February, 2021

According to the Permanent Secretary, the interview of shortlisted candidates is scheduled to hold on Monday 1 to Friday 5, March, 2021 and release of shortlisted candidates would also be made available on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

Edu-Biznews recalled that  a  retired Police Commissioner in Taraba State, David Akinremi had already been appointed last December, 2020 as Commander of the corps in addition to provision of  vehicles and Motorcycles   by the State Government, to ease the activities of the corps of fighting crime in the state
