CAF Confederation Cup: Enyimba Cross Rivers United's Hurdle, Qualify 5-4



Two time Africa Champions, Enyimba International of Aba struggled to cross the hurdle set by rivals Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United of Port-harcourt, to qualify for the money spinning group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Pride Rivers had cancelled out the one deficit in the return leg of the crucial play off held at the Adokiye Amiesimeka Stadium in Port-harcourt on Sunday, but the Peoples Elephants that eventually scaled through to the group stage via 5-4 penalties after both sides settled for one-all aggregate score at the end of regulation time.

It was showpiece  of Nigeria's top flight league on displayed on the Africa continent as the two coaches, Fatai Osho of visiting Enyimba and Stanley Eguma of homeside, Rivers United proved the stuff they are made, until penalty shoot out seperated who move to the group stage of the second tier African clubs competition .
