14.7KM Ijebu-Ode-Epe Road To Boost Economy-Ogun Govt



Ogun State Government has said that its ongoing Ijebu-Ode-Itamapako-Epe road, in Ogun East Senatorial District, would stimulate economy  and boost business activities in the axis when completed 

The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya who made this known during the recent inspection of the road, explained that the project was borne out of the desire to stimulate economic activities, secure and create a safe environment for businesses to thrive.

Adesanya expressing satisfaction with the level of work, which is at advance stage,added that the road would improve the standard of living of people in the axis 
 
The Commissioner assured the people of the state of the Dapo Abiodun's administration committment to infrastructural development, adding that the road on completion would serve as alternative route for travelers  to Lagos, especially from the eastern part of the country, which would also create mutual economic benefits to both Lagos and Ogun States.

Akinsanya speaking further on the socio-economic importance of the road said, "economically, Lagos and Ogun States can benefit from each other, the travel time for travelers would significantly reduce, quality of life will also improve, while flooding along the axis will be a thing of the past, as drainages has been properly channeled’’.

Akinsanya while cautioning motorists against over speeding to avoid untoward hazards and accidents, implored residents to be patient with the government, as infrastructural development would cover all parts of the Senatorial Districts.

Speaking during an interaction with journalists in Ijebu- Ode, the Project Manager in-charge of the construction, Engr. Amine Tawk revealed that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the road when completed, not less than 30 communities along the axis stand to benefit from the economic proceeds.

It will be recalled that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun during one of the inspection tours of roads across the State, pledged that the 14.7km Ijebu-Ode-Epe road would be commissioned in the second half of 2021.

A resident along the Ijebu-Ode-Epe road, Mr. Olufemi Otukoya said the government has shown that the convenience and economic prosperity of the people were premia, through its infrastructural development drive.

He commended Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration for deeming it fit to construct the road, which he described as an economic advantage for people in the area and the State at large.

Contributing, a community leader along the axis, Chief Kolade Onanuga lauded the State government for making part of the road accessible for the movement of people and goods, since December 2020, adding that the gesture has greatly improved economic activities in the area.

The 14.7km Ijebu-Ode-Epe road which is 65 percent completed, offers an alternate route to Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu-Lagos Expressway thus, making business activities a worthwhile venture without stress
