Also the Expo Park in front of the June-12 Cultural Centre, Kuto Abeokuta demolished by the immediate past Amosun administration for road expansion, is to be reconstructed as part of capital projects in the state's Appropriation Bill now being considered by the State House of Assembly .
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism,Dr.Oluwatoyin Taiwo who revealed the plan on Monday, while defending his ministry's budget estimate of N1.24billion for incoming financial year before the house, said that N140million had been voted for the upgrading of the Africa's literally giant residence located at secluded part of Kemta Idi-Aba in the city.
He added that N45.95million would equally be used for the upgrading of elevator at the famous and historic tourist site, "Olumo Rock" in the same capital city while another N20million was voted for the upgrading of equipments at the Hubert Ogunde Technical Theater as well as N10million each for reconstruction of the Expo Park and upgrading of equipment at the cinema hall of the cultural centre.
According to the commissioner , N2.5million will be spent on erection of the demolished scriptural piece at the same cultural centre while N5million is to be expended on upgrading of Helipad to an open air event Centre .
Taiwo disclosed that another N215.5million would be spent on construction of recreational facilities in the state, including remodeling and building of charlets at Yemoji Natural Pool and Resort in Ijebu-Ode, construction of public park lots and recreational park at old Governor's office in Ibara, Abeokuta as well as provision of access road, street light, toilet and other facilities at the Adire International markets in Kemta and Asero area of the ancient city.
