Ogun Govt.Assures Industries Of Getting More Lands For Expansion



Ogun State Government has assured manufacturing companies operating in the state of getting more lands for them to expand their operations and increase level of production .

Some of the industries had complained of inadequate space which is hindering their expansion plan to increase  level of production 

But the State Commissioner for Industry,Trade and Investment, Mrs.Kikelomo Longe during her recent tour of Industries in the Remo axis, pledged to address the challenge of limited land, affecting  the expansion plans of various industries in the State.

 She said such expansion would not only expand their factories but increase the production capacity .

The Commissioner who visited  Proforce Limited, Ode-Remo and Coleman Technical Company Limited, Sagamu, assured the companies of the government's readiness to take appropriate action on their request for more land, to ensure the plans come to reality.

Longe commended the companies for enlarging their operations  , despite the negative effect of the coronavirus pandemic on businesses globally.

" I am extremely thrilled that despite the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, more industries in Ogun State including the four industries we have visited in the last two days, are all taking steps to expand their production lines and factories", Longe stated.

."As a responsive government we will address those issues they have raised, including requests for more land. We will even look into more areas in which we can help them achieve their plans", the Commissioner assured.

She noted that the expansion plans would give a boost to the economy, as well as create employment, assuring that government would not relent in its efforts at improving the ease of doing business in the State.

Also speaking, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola noted that the government is already working on the harmonisation of taxes, to ensure all issues of multiple taxation are addressed, saying it would continue to create enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

The Group Managing Director, Proforce Limited, Ode-Remo, Mr. Adetokunbo Ogundeyin had earlier said the company which is the only armoured-car manufacturer in sub-Saharan Africa, would expand into the production of more weapons to meet increasing demand.

He called on the State government to help in addressing its challenge of getting more portions of land approved for its new factory.

Similarly, the Managing Director, Coleman Technical Industries Limited, Sagamu, Mr. George Onafowokan said the company would expand its Sagamu and Arepo factories, in order to enlarge its chain of production

He, stressed that the expansion would create over 3,000 jobs at the Sagamu factory alone.
