Ogun Govt. Earnmakes N17.68Bn For Gratuities, Pensions In 2021

Ogun State Government has set aside  N17.68 billion in the 2021 Appropriation Bill, for payment of gratuities and pensions of its Retirees .

The State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun revealed this while defending the State Bureau of Pension's budgetary provision before the State House of Assembly on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

She explained that N2billion would be used for payment of gratuities and N15.68 billion for the monthly pension in the coming year.

According to her, N66.89million  was paid as gratuities as at last October out of the N2billion approved in the outgoing fiscal year while N8.79billion was paid out of the approved N8.8billion for the same period.

Also Chairman of the State Civil Commission,Engr.Tokunbo Odebunmi during the defence of the commission's 2021 budget estimate of N273.27million before the house, revealed that the agency was considering establishment of a separate Staff College aside the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), to handle training of the State's Civil Servants inline with the needs of the State Government.

He stressed the need to ensure conduct regular training for Civil Servants for more effective service delivery of government's activities and service to the people of the state.
