Ogun Govt.Assures Teachers Of Adequate Welfare Package To Improve Standard of Teaching

Ogun State government has assured Teachers in its public primary and secondary schools of adequate training and welfare package, particularly prompt payment of their remuneration, to ensure conducive learning environment for the pupils to perform better in both internal and external examinations.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu gave the assurance at the opening of a 2- day Capacity Building Workshop on School Management Practices in the Post COVID-19 period, for public primary school Headteachers and Principals of Junior Secondary Schools, organised by the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, at Lisabi Grammar School, Idi Aba, Abeokuta.

Arigbabu called on school administrators to complement the giant strides of the government in the education sector to ensure continuous improvement of the standard.

The Commissioner explained  that the training was organised to ensure that the lives of learners are not exposed and endangered by the spread of COVID-19, hence, the need to orientate them on the need to imbibe healthy lifestyles that are capable of curtailing its effect.

"I want to appreciate all our teachers for their diligence and dedication in teaching and keeping our children safe by adhering to COVID-19 protocols. We will continue to monitor the level of compliance as we cannot afford to throw caution to the wind where lives of learners are involved", Arigbabu admonished.

 Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo while doing the over view of the programme, appreciated the organisers for the success and the positive effects of initial programme for school heads.

 She maintained that the event would help the school administrators to be fortified with all it requires to move their schools forward and how to ensure safe and secured environments in schools.

The Board Secretary of SUBEB, Mr. Olalekan Kuye lauded the Dapo Abiodun administration for organising the programme for  Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head teachers of public primary schools . 

He explained that the programme was put in place to broaden their knowledge and sharpen their skills in the best management practices during the post COVID-19 lockdown era.
