The SOYINKA IN ME, a Literature Text Book Now On Sale

" The SOYINKA IN ME", is a Literature Text Book approved by the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the class- three pupils  in the Junior Secondary School level.

The book written by a two terms former chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) in Ogun State,Dada Olanipekun, is one of the books recommended for the poetry class.

Reviewing the book, Dr.Femi Olupe and Wale Afuape, described it as a collection of an intellectual response to the  denigration of Africa and Africans by the current crop of African leaders .

The poet according to them, in the collection,tries to capture the current themes in African Literature, using his imaginary writing skills to reflect on the current Nigeria situation of killing, maiming ,kidnapping and societal degeneration in almost every line of his poem .

"The SOYINKA IN ME" has total number of Thirty-eight poems, whose subject matter centers on Nigeria and Africa, bringing out specific outstanding qualities of being an African  as reflected in some of the collections for an example"Kongi Eniogun at  82._

Eniogun at 82 is a Celebration of the longevity of Nobel Laurette,Professor Wole Soyinka.

The poem on "Uganda" discussed conflict, destruction and bloodshed in the East African country, calling for peace and tolerance while the poet in another poem "Abeokuta", described Abeokuta as a peaceful ancient capital city of Ogun State,bedded with sleeping rocks.

Olanipekun, a veteran journalist and publisher of a reputable community newspaper"Prestige Newspaper"in his poem "Kongi in you"saluted the courage and doggedness of Wole Soyinka,a Professor of English Literature, which to the poet is always a source of inspiration.
