Gov.Abiodun Approves 12 Roads For Reconstruction To Boost Foods Production In Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved reconstruction of 12 roads to link Agricultural Processing Zones across Ogun State and crash prices of foodstuffs to make them available for consumers.

The roads reconstruction are expected to be completed within the next six and nine months period.

Some of the approved roads including 5.7 Kilometres Somorin/Kemta/Idi-Aba Road and 3.41kilometres Olomore Junction and Sanni Road off Lafenwa Roundabout both in Abeokuta are also to link the major roads, ease vehicular movement and boost commercial activities in the state.

The State Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Ade Akinsanya accompanied by the Information and Strategy Commissioner, Alhaji Waheed Odusile  made this known over the weekend,while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Akinsanya said the governor approved the roads reconstruction at the end of the State Executive Council meeting.

He listed the roads linking Agricultural Processing Zones in the state, to include 8 Kilometres Orile-Oko Road in Remo North Local Government Area, 1.2kilometre Ilishan Market Road in Ikenne Local Government Area as well as 3.8 kilometres Ilashe/Koko/Alari Roads in Ipokia Local Government Area.

Also approved according to the Commissioner, are 2kilometres Itori Junction/Total Road in Ewekoro Local Government Area, 300metres FlyoverBridge/Inter change project on Ijebuode/Epe Expressway and Sagamu/Ore Inter change in both Ijebuode and Odogbolu Local Government Areas respectively.

Akinsanya announced other approved roads for reconstruction to include ,1.3kilometre Joju Road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, 5.9kilometres  Sagamu Junction/Iperu Roundabout and 3kilometres Iperu Roundabout/Ode Road in both Sagamu and Ikenne Local Government Areas as well as 2.3kilometres Obafemi Awolowo way/Mada/Tekete in Remo North Local Government Area.

The Commissioner added that reconstruction of the Ago-Iwoye/Oru/Ijebu-Igbo Road would be done in phases, starting with Seven kilometres from Ijebu-Igbo to Oru while the second phase would be between Oru and Ago-Iwoye.

He explained that the approved roads for reconstruction were based on the choices of the people across the State.
