COVID-19:Ogun FA Asks Gateway UTD ,Remo Stars, Others To Go For Testing

Ogun State Football Association has asked players and officials of the second tier Nigeria National League( NNL) sides, Gateway United of Abeokuta and Remo Stars of Ikenne as well as other clubs in the third division's Nigeria Nationwide League based in the state,to go for the Coronavirus testing, ahead of the kick-off of the 2020/21 season in the country.

The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) had last week, directed that Football activities should commence immediately across the country with compliance to  Covid-19 protocols.

Chairman of the State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi in a statement made available to Edu-Biznews on Sunday in Abeokuta,asked all stakeholders especially the Nigeria National League and Nigeria Nationwide League clubs, to adhere strictly to Covid-19 protocols.

Majekodunmi in the statement, insisted that the FA would not allow into the match venues, any of the spectators, officials  and players who failed to go for  the COVID-19 testing.

 "Players and officials of League teams should go for COVID-19 test",he stated.

 According to him ,"Stadium fumigation including home and away dressing room, referees room and the medical bay must be carried out."

The FA stressed that "the Usage of face mask is compulsory and also teams should submit photocopy of their registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)."

The association also admonished Non League clubs and grassroots teams to  abide by the COVID-19 protocols as they go about their football activities.

The clubs are enjoined to complete their registrations  for the new season which has commenced while wishing them Successful football Campaign.
