FUMMSA Officials Meet Ogun Govt On Model College Onijanganjangan Donated For Take-Off Of Academic Activities

Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta, (FUMMSA),Prof. Fatiu Arogundade and other top officials of the institution have met with Ogun State Government to facilitate the formal take over of the State Model College at Onijanganjangan near Abeokuta donated by the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration for smooth take-off of academic activities

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who hosted the delegation congratulated the Federal Government over the achievement of establishing the Medical institution, 

He expressed optimistic that the school would succeed because of the brilliant approaches of the management staff during the taking over processes.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Arogundade said the take-over was to enable smooth take-off of the 2025/2026 academic activities of the Institution, promising to judiciously utilise the facility for the purpose with which it was donated.

Meanwhile the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has charged learners in the State to be assertive in their dealings with co-students and in presenting their needs to the school authority.

Prof. Arigbabu gave the charge during the Monitoring of 2025 National Examination Council (NECO) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Egba axis of the State, encouraging them not to be discouraged no matter the challenges of life, as lack of comportment was a major cause of setbacks to people.

  

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction to NECO examination body and Ogun State Government over the smooth conducts, as well as timely and adequate materials supplied, assuring that the results of the examinations would be better than that of the previous ones.

"I am impressed with what I see in schools that we went to, both public and private. The Examinations went on smoothly and the students comport themselves well," he said.

Speaking, the Principals of Baptist Boys High School (Senior), Saje, Mrs. Morenikeji Oredola and her counterpart in Asero High School, Mrs. Folasade Ajayi affirmed that the conduct was better than the previous ones, in terms of  materials and supervisory roles of the examinations bodies.

Schools visited were, Mercy Land International School, Ibara, Alaba Lawson College, Kuto, Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Saje High School and Asero High School, all in Abeokuta.
