Daniel's Associates, Others Donate To N500m Asiwaju Remo Christians Choir Festival Endowment Fund



Former Governor and Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Sunday used his well-endowed political affluence to mobilize the support of associates in politics and corporate world for his N500 million Asiwaju Remo Christians Choir Festival Endowment Fund held at Abraham's Tabernacle (Ecumenical Worship Centre) in Sagamu area of Ogun State 

The annual religious festival for Choristers which saw Choirs  from nine churches competing for total prize money of N30 million , attracted top politicians and those in corporate organizations who parted with millions of naira to demonstrate their support for the Endowment Fund 

The Ogun State 2023 governorship candidate for Peoples Democrat Party, Hon. Ladipupo Adebutu and Aare Adetola Emmanuel -King who is the Otun Asiwaju of Remo Christians top the list of donors with N10 million each, former Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Mrs. Bisola Sodipo-Clark and PDP 2023 governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi donated N500,000 each while Chief Executive Officer CEO of Enzo Pharmaceutical Company, Dr(Mrs) Stella Okolie announced a donation of a million at first installment 

Asiwaju of Remo Christians, Sen.Daniel who is initiator of the festival explained that the essence of the annual festival was to significantly improve Christian worship through sounds, especially the ancient songs 

"This is manifested in the motto for the annual festival,"improving the art of singing in our churches", he stated 

"The objective is the promotion of inspiring and motivational songs as a means of worshiping God and teaching his words. It is also aimed at encouraging and preparing future talents for spiritual songs and pushing such songs as a means of improving behaviour and disposition In the society. As such, it is part of my contributions to the body of Christ, all based on my background and upbringing in the church ", the senator stated 




He was full of appreciation to corporate sponsors including Adron, Greenwich, FCMB, Veritas Glanvills Pension, Pro force, Kresta Laurel Ltd, Amba Properties Ltd, Sky Capital, Parallex, Synto Global Resources , Systemspecs, Conference Hotel, Sifax Group, Gateway Front Foundation and Rite Foods Limited 

Also speaking, Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Adetokunbo Ogundeyin , a Group Managing Director of O'la-Kleen Holdings Limited who had earlier donated N10 million to support the yearly Choirs Festival, described the event as a way of using heavenly hymns and spiritual songs to win more souls for God 


He pledged his continuous financial support to the Asiwaju Remo Christians Choir Endowment Fund for the sustenance of the festival 

Also speaking, the Primate of the African Church, His Eminence Julius Osayande Olayinka Abbe showered encomium on Daniel for the initiative and prayed for the sustenance of event while calling on other well to do Nigerians, particularly Christians to support the work of evangelism for God 

The event also attracted dignitaries including Asiwaju Obinrin Onigbagbo of Ogun State, Ambassador Dr.(Mrs) Olatokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu, former Nigeria High Commissioner to United Kingdom,  Alhaji Sarafa Tunji-Ishola, Deputy Governor of Ondo State who represented Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa , Senate Committee South West Development Commission Chairman, Olubunmi Adekunbi, former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly Right Honourable Titi Oseni, former member of House of Representatives Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan and wife of House of Reps member, Hon. Gboyega Isiaka Nosiru amongst others 

Those Choirs who participated at the festival included *De Emerald Choir Akure, Ondo State*, *The Messiah Chorale , Ile-Ife, Osun State*, hosts, *Abraham's Tabernacle Choir , Sagamu, Ogun State*, *The Melodious Chorale, Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State*, *CCC Imole Jesu Parish Choir (Goshen Voices), Ikorodu , Lagos State*, *The Choir , Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State*, *Singspiration Chorale Onitsha, Anambra State * , *Hymns and Chants Chorale, Lagos State* and*CCC Ibadan Cathedral, Oyo State* 


















The Executive Secretary of the choir festival, Dr. Opeyemi Adeyinka Asaolu announced the cash prizes to include N5million as star prize for the winners of choir festival, N3.5mllion as 2nd prize, N2.5 million (3rd prize), N1million (4th prize), N900,000 (5th prize), N800,000(6th prize), N700,000 (7th position), N600,000(8th position) while N500,000 is for Choir in the 9th position while all observing choir groups are to home with N500, 000 each
