Alternate Medicine practitioners in Ogun state, including fresh graduands of African College of Traditional Medicine have been charged to always uphold basic ethical guidelines, to streamline and standardise the practice.
The Executive Secretary/ Registrar of the State Alternate Medicine Board, Dr. Kafayat Lawal gave the charge during the graduation ceremony of Batch 19 of the College at its Auditorium Hall, Elekuro, Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
Certified professionals in the field according to her, are expected to know the rudiments and limitations of the job to prevent complications
The Executive Secretary who was
Director, Administration and Supplies, Mrs. Omotunde Olaniyan, stated that the Board embarked on the registration and training of practitioners, to acquaint them with operational laws of the state among others
She advised the graduands to work within their scope of operation, as the present administration was cognisance of the roles and responsibilities of every area of its health system.
Speaking, the Legal Adviser of the College, Barr. Thomas Akintubuwa, congratulated the graduands, enjoining them to be good ambassador of the school.
Earlier, Proprietor of the College ,Chief Samson Soyoye said creation of OGAMB by the state government was a platform to develop practitioners in the field of traditional medicine, appreciating the present administration for creating the Board, and pledged support of the college at all times.
Responding on behalf of other graduands, Mr. Amao Abdullah and Mrs. Odeyemi Titilayo, promised to uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
At the night point of the event 38 graduates was indexed into the profession.
