Abiodun Urges Muslims To Sustain Prayers For Nigeria To Overcome Economic Challenges




Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has asked Nigerians particularly Muslims to use the period of festivity  to pray for the country to overcome its current economic challenges 

Abiodun who was represented by Sen.Shuaib Afolabi Salisu representing Ogun Central Senatorial District made the call on Sunday shortly after the mandatory two rakats prayers marking this year's Eid-el-Kabir at the Lantoro  Central Eid Ground in Abeokuta, the State Capital 

He  described the situation as temporary pains that would give way to prosperity for everyone, urging them to be steadfast in their prayers and his administration to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state 

The governor also enjoined them to always keep hygienic environment to prevent spread of Cholera following the outbreak of the disease in Lagos and several states in the country 


Sen.Salisu who also spoke with newsmen from the sideline of Eid Ground, pleaded with Nigerians to continue to bear with ongoing reformed policies which according to him, are necessary for the country to fix the economic challenges 

He added that they should be grateful to God for the gift of life, saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration is committed to finding lasting solutions to the current situation in the country with numbers of palliative measures being implemented to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship 


Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Sa'adallah Alade Bamigbola in his sermon urged Muslims to adhere strictly to teachings of Islam by promoting unity among themselves and assisting the needy in the society 

He urged them to shun all acts capable of breaking family ties, encouraging them to use the festive season to promote the spirit of unity among members of their families 

He later performed the slaughtering of sacrificial ram in the presence of all worshippers at the prayer ground
