Remo Foundation Lauds Abiodun's Education Programmes In Ogun

 

Ogun State Government has been commended for its efforts at improving the standard of education, particularly with the introduction of student palliative, to ameliorate the economic hardship in the country, amongst others laudable initiatives in the education sector in the state 

The Chairman, Remo Growth and Development Foundation (REMOGDF), Otunba Seni Adetu gave the commendation while paying homage to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, in his palace at Sagamu 

Otunba Adetu noted that payment of cash awards to public primary and secondary school students would assist parents in the provision of necessary materials for their children.

He explained that the foundation had put in place various programmes to complement government’s efforts at improving the education sector, towards enhancing the socio-economic development of the state.

Head of Education and Youth Empowerment Committee of the Foundation, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo had in her opening remarks, disclosed that the foundation organised educational support and intervention programmes known as ‘After Class Coaching’, for Senior Secondary School 3 students across Remoland.

She explained that four centres were chosen for coaching classes on Fridays and Saturdays, which included Saapade Grammar School, Iperu Remo High School, Ilisan Community High School and Emeritus Prof. Theophilus Ogunlesi Model Secondary School, Mosinmi, urging students to avail themselves of the opportunity.

Also speaking, the Foundation’s pioneer Chairman, Prince Wole Sowole, said the body had various programmes such as, Remo Cultural Festival, scheduled to hold later in the year, at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, for the promotion of cultural heritage of Remoland and to unite the people.

Responding, Oba Ajayi appreciated the Foundation for championing people -oriented programmes and initiatives, advising the governing council to work closely with Community Development Associations and Remo Traditional Council for the success of their programmes.
