Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun on his choice of Mr Kehinde Onasanya, whom the union described as a seasoned journalist and thoroughbred professional, as the new Head of the Ogun State Civil Service.
State Chairman of the union, Akinwale Olanrewaju and Secretary, Bunmi Adigun in an appreciation letter on the appointment of Onasanya, described it as
historic choice of one of its members which marks a shift towards excellence and efficiency in the State's civil service, expressing strong belief that the appointment reflects the commitment of the Ogun State government to recruiting top talent and fostering a culture of meritocracy.
"As the first journalist to ascend the esteemed position of the Head of Service in the State, Mr Onasanya, no doubt, would bring his wealth of experience and expertise to the civil service, working towards enhancing productivity, transparency, and professionalism, as he is well-equipped to drive positive change and innovation within the government"the union assured
The State Council of NUJ expressed confidence in the ability of Onasanya to deliver as number one Civil Servant in the state, having served in various capacities within the field of journalism and administration, saying "his commitment to professionalism, ethical standards, and unquenchable thirst for service delivery sure make him an ideal choice to lead the Ogun State Civil Service"
"We are therefore confident that his wealth of experience, leadership skills, and dedication to public service will be instrumental in driving positive change and innovation within the Ogun State Civil Service and as well enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of government operations", the union stated
The union was full of confident that the State Civil Service under the headship of Onasanya, would strive for excellence, transparency, and efficiency in delivering services to the people of Ogun State, assuring that his appointment is a testament to the value of experience and competence in governance and administration.
"As a thoroughbred professional in the pen profession and a distinguished member of the prestigious Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) where he served as the State Council Treasurer and current member of the Ogun NUJ Support Fund for Deceased Members' family, we assure the Governor that the new Head of Service shall demonstrate deep commitment to professionalism and ethical communication practices being a distinguished man in terms of attitude, integrity, character, honour and value", the union added
While congratulating Onasanya as the new Head Of Service, the NUJ expressed its readiness to support and collaborate with him in his efforts to enhance the civil service and contribute to the development of Ogun State.
