TESCOM To Employ More French Language Teachers In Ogun Public Schools



 


Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has declared its readiness to recruit more French Language Teachers
in the the forthcoming recruitment exercise by the State Government, as part of measures to address the shortage of such subject teachers in public seconday schools and harness the potentials of understanding French Language 

Chairman, TESCOM, Evang. Olalekan Ifede expressed the readiness  at the 2023 World French Teachers Day, organised by the Ogun State Chapter, Nigeria Association of French Teachers (NAFT), themed: The Pride of Teaching French Language, held at Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta.

He added that the recruitment would further promote French Language in public schools and harness the potentials of understanding the language in addition to English Language 

The Chairman assured that more French Language teachers would be brought on board, to further reinforce the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government to teachers' welfare and education advancement in the State, charging the association not to relent in their efforts at promoting the study of French Language.

President, NAFT, Comrade Raheem Toyin had earlier said the theme of the event speaks to the importance and the immeasurable benefits that French Language could bring to an individual, State and the nation if potentials were fully harnessed

He enjoined all to see the study of French Language, beyond the borders of Nigeria.

Also speaking , the President of Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in the State, Comrade Oluwaseun Agbesanwa urged French Language teachers to be proactive, as they expect the needed support from the government

He  noted  that French Language was an international language, and a barrier breaker in communication and international relations.

On his part, the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Akinola Abiodun said French as a subject could be taught in primary schools to harness the full potential of pupils right from their formative years.
