Lobi Stars Beat Shooting Stars 2-1 To Sustain Lead On NPFL Table, As Enyimba Worsen Heartland's Woes




Lobi Stars of Makurdi maintained its top position with 20 points after beating hard-fighting Shooting Stars of Ibadan 2-1 in a week-10 match of the top flight Nigeria Football Premier League played on Sunday

With the loss , the Oluyole Warriors are now in the third position with 17 points ahead of the fourth placed Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo with 16 points after disappointing their fans in a goal less draw with visiting Doma United of Gombe who currently in second position with 18 points 

Fifth placed Enyimba International of Aba continued their resurgence with a lone-goal win against homeside, Heartland of Owerri who are still languishing at the bottom of the table with just six points while the Aba Elephants are on 16 points

Enugu Rangers occupying sixth position with 15points suffered one nil loss to homeside , Abia Warriors who are now on seventh position with the same number of points

Bendel Insurance of Benin-city  occupying eight position with 14points held their host Kano Pillars who in the 13th position with 13points to a goal less draw 

 Kwara United of Ilorin are in the ninth position with 13points after  defeating their visitors, Gombe United 2-0 who are currently in the 16th position with 12 points

A strike from Omoduemuke in the 25th minute secured the vital win for the homeside, Sunshine Stars of Akure occupying 11th position with 13 points against the visitors, Sport Lagos who are in the 14th position with 12 points

The 12th placed Katsina United with 13points settled for one-all draw with visiting Bayelsa United of Yenegoa who are battling to survive relegation in the 19th position with nine points 

In another battle to survive relegation, 17th placed Niger Tornadoes of Minna with 11points  managed a lone-goal win against visiting Akwa United of Uyo who are in the 18th position with just 10points
