TESCOM Inducts 124 Vice Principals In Ogun Schools..Tasks Them On Efficiency In Schools


          


Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has inducted new Vice Principals as managers and administrators, with a charge to compliment the efforts of their respective Principals, to ensure  more efficiency in the running of public secondary schools in the state.

Chairman of the Commission, Evang Olalekan Ifede gave the charge during the induction ceremony at Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta where  124 VPs were elevated from class room teachers to join the management and render supportive services to their principals 
             
Ifede who administered oath of office on the new Vice Principals, expressed the determination of TESCOM  to do what was necessary to ensure education standard in the state is sustained and regularly improved upon, adding that the latest development is expected to bring about efficiency in the sector.
      
 "The state government will continue to do the needful to ensure qualified and deserving teachers are recognised and elevated when necessary. I want them to work hand in hand with their principals for the progress of education in the state", he added.
        
Chairman, Induction Committee and Commissioner IV, TESCOM Hon. Ademola Adeleye in his charge said school VPs are expected to support their principals and work as a team for the advancement of education in their respective schools.

         
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary TESCOM, Dr Waheed Olanloye emphasized the need for the new VPs to comport themselves and live up to the new challenge of the office, saying they were now part of school management.

State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Comrade Akinola Abiodun in his words implored the newly inducted to see the elevation as an opportunity to be agents of positive change in their respective schools of posting.
        
Two of the Inductees in their remarks, Mr Isau Akinlade and Mrs  Veronica Adigbo expressed appreciation to the government for the elevation, saying they will live up to expectations.
         
The VPs induction signifies the end of the two-day induction of event by TESCOM, which had earlier sworn in 141 Principals in the state.
