Ogun State Government has rewarded its athletes who won medals at the ongoing 7th National Youth Games, Asaba 2023 with instant cash rewards.
The State Director of Sport, Mrs. Folakemi Rotimi who announced this, said Governor Dapo Abiodun rewarded the athletes with instant cash prizes to athletes who made the State proud in Asaba.
"It is no longer news that in Ogun State, we reward our athletes when they perform excellently, as the State Government tries to dole out instant reward, for motivation and encouragement. You can see that during the last festival, our Governor gave cash rewards to these athletes and the officials that attended", Rotimi remarked.
She stated that the instant reward is for better performance in future competitions, which would also encourage other athletes to put more effort into what they are already doing.
Para table tennis players, Raji Asisat and Tobiloba Ogunyemi, who won Silver and Bronze medals, and Mojeed Rilwan, who won Bronze in Judo, also received instant cash rewards at the event
Responding on behalf of other winners, Mojeed Rilwan appreciated the Governor, for his generosity towards the athletes and their welfare.
