NFF May Get Former Romanian international Adrian Mutu As Replacement For Super Eagles' Coach Paseiro




Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may be considering former Romanian international, Adrian Mutu as possible replacement for the Super Eagles'Portuguese tactician, Jose Paseiro whose contract expires in June

According to a source, the former player for Chelsea Football Club of England is listed among the shortlisted names for the plum job, ahead of the Eagles' next qualifier for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations   

Mutu's representatives are already in Nigeria awaiting a verbal agreement with the Nigeria football Association. 

A top official of the football house who spoke on condition of anonymity told www.nsmmedia.com.ng that so far, 6 names have been shortlisted and that Mutu is considered a priority candidate. 

Born January 8, 1979, 44year old Adrian Mutu is the current coach of Romanian side FC Rapid 1923, a club he joined in 2022 after signing a three year contract. 

Mutu coached the Romanian under 21 team between 2020 and 2021 before taking over as coach of FC Craiova in May 2021. He was also Romanian National team chief scout and president of FC Dinamo at one time.

It will be recalled that the Eagles have been struggling to win matches including a disappointing Afcon qualifier  home loss to Guinea Bisau   under the Venezuela former handler
