2023 UTME Best Candidate Gets N3million Scholarship



Ejikeme Joy, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state who emerged as the overall best candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a score of 362, has been offered a N3million worth of scholarship by Nigeria’s indigenous automobile manufacturer, Innoson Vehicles

The company’s Chairman, Dr Innocent Chukwuma who announced the scholarship offer , said that the award was a demonstration of its commitment to academic excellence.

According to him,  the gesture is not only a celebration of academic excellence but also a reflection of the company’s dedication to investing in the education of young Nigerians.

Chukwuma added that the scholarship would go a long way in providing financial support to Ejikeme Joy, enabling her to pursue her tertiary education with ease in the next five years.

“Vehicles decision to award the scholarship to the best UTME candidate is a commendable one, as it not only rewards academic excellence but also serves as an inspiration to other students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits", he stated

“We will continue to demonstrate our commitment to social responsibility through various initiatives, including scholarship awards, job creation, and support for local communities.

“This latest scholarship award is a testament to Innoson Vehicles’ dedication to empowering young Nigerians and investing in the future of the nation.”

Joy, a resident of Nnewi in Enugu State and indigene of the State whose father is an Okada rider, appreciated the company for the scholarship, promising to make the company proud for supporting her 

A breakdown of her performance showed that the  student scored  
98 percent in English Language, 
89 percent in Physics, 94 percent in 
Biology, while she recorded 
81 percent respectively in Chemistry
