Gov Abiodun Donates 100 Computers To School

Governor Dapo Abiodun has personally donated 100 computer sets for the use of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School ICT centre, as part of his contribution to improve the technological skill of learners at the secondary school level in Ogun State

Abiodun announced the donation during the commissioning of the ICT/Cafeteria complex built by the Old Boys of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, to commemorate its 110th year anniversary.

The Governor said it was imperative for the public-spirited individuals to join hands with the government to provide needed facilities in schools for the advancement of the education sector, noting that commissioning of the center aligns with his administration's TechHub initiative, which was launched in the first hundred days of his government.

He added that his administration had begun laying of 5000 kilometers fibre optic cables across the length and breadth of the State, for easy accessibility to internet facility.

While appreciating the passion and commitment of the old boys of the school, Abiodun described their action as exemplary and commendable, saying, “It is my joy to support this initiative with 100 computers, I want to enjoin other alumni to emulate what the Old Boys of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School have done because government alone cannot do it all. We must join hands together to continue to build the future of Ogun State".

In his remarks, the National President of the school, Prof. Lawson Adekoya said the project was conceived in 2017, to cater for the needs of students, noting that the association would not relent in making teaching and learning conducive.
