Several petrol filling stations belonging to the independent petroleum marketers in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital have now adjusted their pump price from the initial N180 to between N240 and 270per liter of the Premium Motor Spirit PMS, to reflect the market reality of the product whose supply chain has been distrupted leading to its scarcity in Nigeria
Edu-biznews observed on Saturday that the usual long queue of motorists have gradually disappeared at most of the filling stations because of the availability of the products in the city, particularly among the independent marketers filling stations in Jaiye , Abiola way who are dispensing the product at N250 per liter
At Adatan - Asero axis of Abeokuta, some of them are selling between N240 and N270 per Litre of the products as motorists and customers are buying the product with ease
Most of the filling stations of the major marketers are not having the product as they depend largely on the depots of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited who are supplying the product, except the private depots who are supplying between ex-depot cost of between N195 and N210 per liter
The commercial transporters have also increased their intra-city fares by 50 to 100 percent depending on the distance ,to reflect the market reality
