AFCON U-20 : Brunks Warwick Tips Flying Eagles To Win Tourney In Egypt

Nigeria-born Uefa Professional A-License Coach and founder of Santos Football Academy, Abeokuta, Brunks Warwick has tipped Flying Eagles to win the forthcoming Total Energies Under 20 African Cup of Nations AFCON slated to hold in Egypt

The Nigerian youth side had been drawn in a Group A, alongside host Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique at the African World cup qualifying tournament holding between 19th of February and 11th of March, 2023 

Reacting to the draw , the one-time Assistant Coach of Guinea-Bissau cadet side in an interview with Edu-biznews , says the present crop of players in camp of  the Coach Ladan Bosso tutored  side have what it takes to qualify from the group, having done well at the WAFU-B tournament  which the team won

The former FC Porto of Portugal, Saint Entiente of France and El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri utility player stressed the need to ensure that players are disciplined and focus on the crucial assignment of  securing one of the four tickets to represent Africa at FIFA Under 20 Worldcup in Indonesia holding between May and June, 2023 

On the preliminary match against host Egypt, he asked the players to be  psychologically and physically prepared for the match , saying they will be playing against home fans and match officials 

Warwick was optimistic that Nigerian side would overcome the oppositions from both Senegal and Mozambique and pick one of the qualification tickets from the group for the quarter-final and go on to win the tournament

On development of football in the country, he urged NFF to be more involved in the grassroots competitions to actualize major objectives of organizing such Competitions which is discover raw talents and not winning at all cause because of material gains attached to such competition
