Team-Ogun have received sports equipment donated by Hoffnung Sports Foundation, ahead of the forthcoming 2022 National Sports Festival holding in Delta State
Some of the sports equipment donated include Customized Ogun Jerseys, tennis rackets, table tennis kits, lawn tennis kits, among others.
Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi who received the donation on behalf of the state contingents, commended the Foundation for the support, saying “the gesture was a rare one, as only few people think of what they can contribute to governance rather than wait on government for everything”.
Talabi, who described the charitable contributions as a move that would encourage more people to support the government on its “Building Our Future Together” agenda, noted that such support had inspired the present government in its determination to facilitate more youth development programmes in the State.
The State’s Scribe lauded individuals and various corporate entities for motivating the State contingents to the National Sports Festival.
Earlier in his presentation, the Founder, Hoffnung Sports, Mr. Dapo Akiode, said the donation was part of the Foundation’s drive to support sports development in the State, particularly the 2022 edition of the event.
According to Akiode, ‘’this donation is my own way of taking sports to the next level because the State has the opportunity of winning so many laurels in sports, as its indigenes are doing well, but I believe that there is still room for improvement”.
High point of the event was the decoration of the Special Adviser to Ogun Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Biyi Adeleye as the Patron of the Foundation.
