Ogun State Government has stressed the need for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the education sector, so as to ensure optimal academic performance among learners
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who made the call in Abeokuta at the 2022 National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Day, with the theme: ‘‘Changing Roles of Private Schools in Providing Safe Learning Environment’’, said that sustainable quality and standard education could only be achieved through the continued support of critical stakeholders, especially private school owners.
Arigbabu submitted that the Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA) platform had been of advantage in tackling examination malpractices to the barest minimum, advising private school owners to sustain their efforts at improving the standard of education.
“ I want to assure you that as a government, we will always partner with all our private school owners in the formulation of policies that will reposition the standard of education in the State”, he said.
Arigbabu commended the Association for its unflinching collaboration with the development of the education sector, reaffirming government’s commitment to further ensure discipline to achieve outstanding academic performance.
In his remark, the Southwest President, NAPPS, Comrade Deji Olatona, represented by Mr. Wale Wahab, said there was a need to keep schools in the country safe, calling on all stakeholders to ensure the safety of both teachers and learners.
In his welcome address, the President of NAPPS, Ogun State branch, Dr. Lawrence Holumidey said the annual celebration was an avenue to learn, unlearn and relearn, assuring that the Association would continue to be a vital instrument of knowledge for improved academic performance and safe learning environment
