Ogun State Government has urged investors to take advantage of the Ogun State Economic Development Clusters (EDCs) initiative, to support industries to grow and expand their businesses, to enjoy regular power and water supply, access roads, internet connection and proximity to producers of raw materials.

The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe gave the advice in Abeokuta, while playing host to the officials of a newly established industry, Shalina Healthcare Nigeria Limited, Isheri, ahead of its inauguration.

Longe said the currently developed EDCs by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had strengthened the State's status as Nigeria's industrial hub, calling on investors including those with expansion plans to consider locating their businesses at the Clusters.

The Commissioner affirmed that “the initiative has placed the State on a higher pedestal for attracting investments and supporting industries to grow, as well as expand and have all necessary facilities like power, water, access road, internet connection and proximity with producers of raw materials”.

She added that the government had commenced work on the EDCs with the Remo Cluster which was strategically located close to the State's Agro-cargo airport and the Special Agro-processing Zone, restating the present administration’s determination to continue to create enabling environment for investors to establish and expand their businesses.

Longe commended the company for defying the challenge posed by the coronavirus pandemic during the construction of the factory in the State and its drive to expand the factory.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chief Commercial Officer West Africa/ Managing Director (Nigeria), Shaolin Healthcare Nigeria Limited, Mr. Arun Raj said the company commenced the construction of its Isheri factory in the year 2020 during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, lauding the Abiodun-led administration for providing necessary support for the success of the project.
