Justify Huge Investment In Health Sector-Ogun Alternate Medicine Board Asks Practitioners





Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board (OGAMG), has asked practitioners  across the 20 Local Government Areas, to complement the efforts of the present administration, so as to justify its huge investment in the health sector                                           

The Chairman, OGAMB, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye made the call during a day sensitisation programme and presentation of certificates to members of Nigeria Association of Medical Herbalists, Ogun State Chapter, at Maku, Sagamu

He said the government was determined to standardise the practice of alternate medicine, by ensuring the delivery of qualitative, accessible and affordable healthcare services for all.

Olaleye noted that the Board had embarked on massive training, orientation and advocacy programmes in all aspect of alternate medicine, to enable it have data base of certified members for adequate planning to move the sub-sector forward.  




He added that, ‘’it is mandatory for practitioners at different Local Government Areas to partake in various programmes organised by the Board to exposed them to modern ways of doing the job in line with the best global practice”.

Earlier in his address, the President, Nigeria Association of Medical Herbalist, Ogun State chapter, Prince Adeyemi Adebambo, appreciated the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his support which had given Ogun an edge among comity of States in the country on alternate medicine.

Also speaking, the Baasegun General of Ogun State, Chief Morayo Ogunremi and  the Akogun Isegun of Nigeria, Otunba Abimbola Orekoya commended the Board for the initiative deployed to resolve challenges confronting the Association, noting that its establishment had exposed members to innovative ideas.  

Responding, one of the participants, Mrs Kehinde Alayo promised to work with the Board to fish out quacks in the field of alternate medicine practice.
